In December 2019, I was fortunate to be a part of a DePaul School of Design study abroad to Scandinavia. As a part of this course, we were encouraged to document our trip in unconventional ways. I collected just about every piece of paper I could find because not only was I drawn to the various design styles, but I'm also an extremely sentimental person and wanted to remember as many little details as I could about the trip. I ended up coming home with a huge stack of maps, museum tickets, random flyers, and other items.
I scanned all of these images into the computer and combined them with photos I took to create this series of collages. All of the imagery and text in the collages are from photos I took or from the found imagery and type I found in my paper collections.
